Tom with "Dando" from the book Spirit of the Pond
Tom O'Reilly
Writer & Illustrator

Tom O'Reilly was born and brought up on the picturesque estate of the
Earl Of St Germans in Cornwall.

He lived for most of his childhood a  'stones throw' away from the estate's two carp ponds, it was these that gave him the inspiration to start writing and drawing and became the background to his first book
"The Spirit Of The Pond"
, published by Macmillan, London, 1996, and in the following year by Shoeisha in Japan.

Following this he was commissioned to write an angling book for M.Q.P, entitled Fishing, from their Infatuation series.
Tom has also had articles published in  many magazines and is now an angling journalist for the Western Morning News newspaper, where he writes a thousand word weekly page illustrated with his photography and drawings.                                                       The Spirit of the Pond - Leather bound

It's these articles that have made up his latest book  The Wild Rover,  published by The Little Egret Press 2002.

In 1999 Tom O'Reilly founded the    B.B. Society, the literary club in honour of the great naturalist and country writer,
Denys Watkins-Pitchford.
