The
Little Egret Press is proud to re-publish
this now classic tale, ten years after it
was first published.
It has a new foreword by John Bailey, a new
introduction and last chapter, plus photos
from the period and poems.
Tom
O'Reilly is a passionate angler. Since he
was a small child he has been fishing in the
ponds and rivers of his native Cornwall,
initially accompanied by his father who
first taught him how to fish and, later,
alone. School holidays passed quickly as he
watched the pond near his home change with
the long summers days and as the tally that
went into his net grew ever larger.
Since
those balmy summer days, his fishing
repertoire has widened to other fish and
other places, but his love for the first pond
has remained constant.
The Spirit Of The Pond is the story of a
love affair both with angling and with the
rural world.
