Richard
Walker was born in 1918 and started fishing with his grandfather at the age of four. His first article on fishing appeared in his school
magazine, but his first paid article was published when he was at
Cambridge, in The Fishing Gazette. The editor encouraged him to write from
his own experiences, and from this early start he went on to become
famous. |
Fifty years have passed since the capture of his record breaking carp, but
many anglers are still using many of his ideas and designs of
tackle.
Richard Walker wrote many books on different types of coarse fishing
including Carp, some of which have now become extremely rare.
