Tony Miles is one of our best known specimen hunters and has been one of our most prolific angling writers since he penned his first article to Angling Times in 1967. It was the same year that he founded the famous Coventry Specimen Group, which brought together household names in the big fish world, such as Phil Smith, Merv Wilkinson and Trefor West.
In 1987 his first two books were released, to be followed in the next four years by a further six titles. These included in 1991
Quest for Barbel, which was co-written with Trefor West. Now on its third reprint,
Quest for Barbel is widely acknowledged as a classic.

Elite Barbel
is a new classic work about giant barbel. More than that, it is a book that deals with monstrous barbel that have now become the most famous in barbel fishing history. Incredibly, as recently as 1995, the two adjacent fisheries that are home to these awesome fish, Adams Mill and Kickles Farm, were relatively unknown and little fished.
In 1995, Tony Miles reported to the Angling Press a giant barbel of 14lb 7oz from Adams Mill. Although fairly commonplace now, 14 pounders in 1995 were huge fish and the capture excited fevered interest in the big fish world.

Within a few short
years, the names Adams Mill and Kickles Farm were to become synonymous with leviathan barbel the length and breadth of the country.
We can share with Tony the frustration of long blank hours, the thought processes behind seemingly endless bait experiments, and the eventual euphoria as success is attained. Quite simply, this is a book you will not want to put down.

Barbel is a brand new work by Tony
Miles
