Fisherman's Folly
|
|
"BB" writes for all those anglers who
relish the solitude of summer days spent at the waters edge.
This book is about fishing as it was enjoyed by those fortunate enough to
have discovered its pleasures long before buzzers, bed chairs and bolt
rigs became popular. A time when angling was pursued as a restful
pastime rather than a race to catch the biggest fish or the most fish as
is the trend today.
In 1949 a book appeared under the title of Be Quiet and Go A-Angling.
Its
author Michael Traherne, was none other than "BB".
After its post-war appearance it dropped from view, but he chose to draw
on it as the basis of his new book, so that it may now be enjoyed by the
many people who have delighted in his books down the years.
