Angling Down
the Years by Peter Wheat

As a boy in school I always tried my very hardest never to do badly and get
found out. Inevitably the result of any unfortunate lapse (there were many!) was dreaded confinement
doing lines - lines which kept me anchored to my desk for hours on end and far away from the obsessive pull of fishing line. Fifty years on, the juvenile hatred of
doing lines remains with me, and though I have been a consistent writer on angling throughout my adult life, I have always been a happier man at the waterside fishing than at home writing about it.
Nevertheless a great many lines have been written, and here I have gathered a selection of them to form a book of favourite scenes of fishing, fun and friendship down the years...
